Tao Shiatsu Treatment

What to expect

A session is approximately 60 minutes for an adult, shorter for a teen or child. A treatment takes place with the receiver clothed, lying on a futon mattress on the floor. All that is needed is to remove the shoes.

In the treatment the shiatsu therapist applies ki pressure to tsubo points, which are specific release points along the receiver’s Ki energy meridians in their body.  By treating tsubo stagnated energy toxins are discharged from the body, making way for the recovery and strengthening of the individual’s natural internal healing response.  Assisted stretches complement this healing process.

People usually report feeling a heightened awareness of their body and a calm “lightness” at the completion of a treatment, along with a decrease and eventual elimination of symptoms.

Treatment Fee is determined by the patient using a sliding fee scale of $50 to $80 for adults (less for teens and children). This allows each patient to choose the fee she or he can best afford.
